Family
Literacy Programs General Information
Through working
with teachers, parent educators, early childhood educators, librarians,
social service providers, and other family literacy professionals,
the Minnesota Humanities Center provides leadership, programs and
resources that advance reading and literacy efforts in homes, schools,
libraries, and the community.
Family Literacy
Programs include:
- Motheread/Fatheread
- includes Storysharing, Motheread/Fatheread, and B.A.B.Y. (Birth
and Beginning Years) curricula
- Reading
with Dad Initiative - features the Reading with Dad booklist,
Dads and Kids Book Clubs; and FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day)
- Minnesota
Storytime - a collection of free reading guides of children's
picture books by Minnesota authors, illustrators and/or publishers
- Early
Literacy Workshops
- a series of professional development opportunities for those
working in early literacy
- Reading
Aloud
- a core workshop that can be designed to meet the unique needs
of the training audience
