Prereading
Each workshop participant will be expected to complete the prereading prior to the workshop. View the prereading.

Workshop assignment
Each workshop participant will be expected to complete one Teacher-Developed Activity (T-DA) based on the workshop content, and centered on the national social studies and history standards, for use in their classroom during the 2008-2009 school year. All exemplary activities will be posted on the workshop website, hosted by the Minnesota Humanities Center.

Graduate and under graduate college credit
The Minnesota Humanities Center is pleased to partner with the University of Minnesota-Duluth to offer these workshops for college graduate or undergraduate credit.

Participants have the option to receive one or two graduate or undergraduate credits from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The cost is $89.65 for the one credit option and $179.30 for the two credit option.

The course number for the one credit option is Educ 5295 Section 223 Special Topics: MHC K-12 Teacher Training Part 6: Minnesota Iron Range History A.

The course number for the two credit option is Educ 5295 Section 224 Special Topics: MHC K-12 Teacher Training Part 7: Minnesota Iron Range History B.

The deadline for submitting required coursework for credit is Aug. 30, 2008.
